1. Victoria Peak

Victoria Peak is famous for its stunning night view and is even ranked as one of the world’s top three night views. It is a must-visit attraction for every tourist in Hong Kong. Located on Hong Kong Island, it is easily accessible with regular buses from the city centre. You can also take the iconic Peak Tram from Admiralty, which offers scenic views along the way. Victoria Peak has a shopping mall and a variety of restaurants, making it perfect for enjoying a meal with family before heading to the observation deck to admire the dazzling night view of Hong Kong Island.

   

2. Sai Kung

Despite being known as an international metropolis and financial centre, Hong Kong also has natural beauty with mountains and water. Sai Kung is often called the “back garden” of Hong Kong, offering a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. It features a charming town atmosphere, a waterfront fish market, historical temples, and breathtaking natural landscapes. It is a hidden paradise cherished by the locals.

     

3. Tian Tan Buddha (Big Buddha)

For a spiritual retreat, Tian Tan Buddha is a great place to visit. Located on Lantau Island, after climbing 268 steps, you will be greeted by the majestic statue of the seated Shakyamuni Buddha on the Ngong Ping plateau. Looking up at this solemn and magnificent structure, a sense of tranquillity washes over you. After appreciating the Big Buddha, you can take a 10-minute walk to the nearby Wisdom Path. The Wisdom Path consists of 38 wooden columns, 8-10 meters in height, arranged in the shape of the infinity symbol (∞). Among them, 37 columns are inscribed with verses from the Heart Sutra, while the tallest column remains blank, symbolizing the concept of “emptiness.” Surrounded by the peaceful mountain forest and immersed in Buddhist teachings, it offers a unique experience.

 

 

4. Lion Rock

Lion Rock is the most iconic and representative landmark of Hong Kong. Located between Kowloon and the New Territories, it stands at a height of 495 meters, resembling a mighty lion overlooking the city. Due to its location, it provides a panoramic view of both sides of the city. It is also famous for watching the sunrise or sunset from the Lion Rock summit.
