Operational Guidelines

Safety: Our priority is safety, it comes first and above all else. We have a fully proven and integrated safety and maintenance system, and have designed standard operating procedure for our aircrafts to mitigate any potential risks.

Permissions: It is required by the CAD that all non-recreational flying to apply for an operation permit 28 days in advance. With our permanent operation permit, it makes scheduling a filming much easier and flexible. Range and operation time: Up to 300 feet above ground level and during daylight hours.

Weather: We can operate in light wind, but cannot operate in rain and will delay the operation if weather conditions make it difficult to operate safely.

Flight time: Depends on aircraft, weather and payload. In general, we are able to fly between 12-25 minutes.

Insurance: All our filming services include a global comprehensive third-party liability insurance, up to USD5,000,000.

The continued development of Hong Kong’s Electrical Power transmission infrastructure, including the development of power grids built to connect Hong Kong with the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station in Guangdong, China and the Black Point Power Station made powerline insulator washing and routine maintenance inspections one of the core provisions of Heliservices’ utility operations.

Aerial Surveying

In recent years, helicopters have increasingly been used to conduct aerial surveys due to their flexibility, range and maneuverability, allowing the surveyor to capture large quantities of high-resolution geometric/photographic data, which is only possible from the air.

Aerial Survey the best method of collecting geomatics and imagery data by combining sensors such as LiDAR, Radar and digital cameras with GPS units installed on the aircraft, which provide accurate position and orientation information. When combined with the latest presentation tools, such as 3D photogrammetry, thermography and 3D LiDAR mapping, the results can be spectacular presentations perfectly suited to the purpose of the survey.

Government departments, public organizations and private companies conduct aerial surveys for city mapping and land use analysis, geotechnical and topographical mapping, vegetation/crop/forest analysis, construction planning and progress recording.
